Olaf Gutbrod, aka OHM-G, was fascinated the music for as long as he can remember. Music was and is magic for him. Olaf got his first guitar when he was 9 years old. From this moment on he knew that music was his life. Being 21 years old, OHM-G met Joe Mubare and started working with him. This had a very strong influence on his music. The story of Pitchben is one about consistency. It’s the 80s. A young boy is growing up to the soundtrack of Electro Funk, drawing influence from the likes of Jackson, The Whispers and D-Train and developing a genuine passion for music. Around 20 years later in 2011, this boy is releasing his debut album “Pitchslap” on Compost Records. This root of funk has been a constant since his childhood. Exploring new territories in the 90s Pitchben, known as ‘M-Tech’ at the time, started to deejay and produce at the young age of 13. French electronic musician and film director Quentin Dupieux, best known by his pseudonym Mr. Oizo (pronounced Wah-zoh) is releasing his new album Stade 2 on November 28 via Ed Banger Records and Because Music. Marking his fourth album, Oizo takes his eccentricity to a new level with one of the most intriguing upcoming releases to date. Performed, recorded and mixed at the Edgecliff-Gym Studio while in LA, it combines an eclectic mix of sounds from the digital flute on the track “Ska” to the erratic electro-beats on “Douche Beat” creating a fantastical blend of the unexpected. Previous credits also include the single “Flat Beat” made wildly popular in Europe when used in a series of Levi’s commercials, and selling over 3 million copies of the EP.

The one thing that Paul Rose, better known as Scuba, really doesn’t want you to do is to try and pin him down. His roots are in London’s dubstep scene, but he lives in the techno metropolis of Berlin. His music is located at some unspecified point between those two cities – bass heavy, sparse, full of atmosphere and with propulsive rhythms, but above all impossible to define.
